Christmas Coffee Mates

We've had an amazing time getting into the festive spirit at our Christmas Coffee Mates on Wednesday 10th December!

We have had such a fabulous turn out of almost 30 clients, with lots of familiar as well as multiple new faces too. We also had the pleasure of a few of our volunteer drivers coming to join in with the fun also.

We hope everyone had lots of fun joining in with the Christmas sing-song, eating tasty mince pies, completing our Christmas word search and winning lots of our Christmas-themed raffle prizes.

We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

We can't wait to see you all again—and hopefully some more new faces too—for our next Coffee Mates in the New Year:

Date: Wednesday 14th January 2026
Time: 2:00pm – 3:30pm
Location:

Macmillan Coffee Mates

For November 2025, we decided to make this month's Coffee Mates extra special by hosting a Macmillan Coffee Mates, which focused on raising donations for a very special cause that is close to our hearts.

We were delighted to host a very successful Macmillan Coffee Mates gathering, with outstanding support from our wonderful local community. The event brought together familiar faces and new visitors, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with conversation, laughter, and plenty of delicious cake.

We were especially pleased to welcome eight new guests, including one of our youngest attendees to date, aged just two. It was fantastic to see such a wide range of ages and members of the community coming together for a great cause.

A special thank you goes to PCSO Ben from West Mercia Police, who kindly joined us to offer his support. His time spent chatting with attendees and assisting with activities throughout the afternoon was greatly appreciated.

We are very proud to announce that, combined with contributions from Droitwich CVS and Moving Forward on Westlands, a total of £150 has been raised in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who baked, donated raffle prizes, contributed financially, or attended the event. Your support has made a meaningful difference!

Droitwich Community Showcase 2025

Back for a second year in a row, the Droitwich Community Showcase returned on Saturday 20th September, celebrating everything that makes our town so special. This free event brought together local groups, charities, and clubs, offering a chance to discover new activities, explore volunteering opportunities, and meet the people who help keep Droitwich thriving.

What an amazing turnout we had at our Droitwich Community Showcase last Saturday, with over 150 people attending this fantastic community event!

We cannot thank everyone enough — from those who helped organise and support the event, to all the wonderful people who came along, chatted, and got involved.

We hope you discovered valuable insights into the brilliant groups, organisations, and support available right here in our local area. The positive feedback we’ve received has been overwhelming, and we had an absolute blast bringing this showcase together.

A very special thank you goes to all the groups who attended, and an even bigger shout out to the very kind sponsors of our event: Cllr. Richard Morris, Cllr Dan Birch, and Platform Housing Group.

Without your generosity, this fantastic event would not have been possible — so THANK YOU!

Our Moving Forward on Westlands team planned and organised another brilliant Family Fun Day, on Wednesday 13th August. Where families enjoyed games, rides, and activities.

We joined this wonderful event by hosting our own stand with fun games, information, and advice, and it was great to connect with so many local people.

A huge thank you to everyone involved – and to Wychavon and Platform Housing Group for making it possible.

We can't wait for next year's fantastic Family Fun Day!

2 Years of Coffee Mates

We were so thrilled to celebrate the 2nd birthday of Coffee Mates in June 2025. Launched as part of Loneliness Awareness Week 2023 our monthly coffee afternoon has become so popular over it's last two years.

With themed quizzes, raffles, chats, laughs, sweet treats and countless cups of tea and coffee it has been a wonderful year- and long may it continue!

We were so grateful to accept a donation of £3,185 from former Mayor, Councillor Kate Fellows and her consort Derek.

Droitwich Spa CVS,  2516 Droitwich Squadron Royal Air Force Cadets, and the Droitwich Fire Cadets from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were the chosen charities for the town mayor 2023/24.

We used this wonderful donation to put towards a new Community Transport wheelchair accessible vehicle, our brand new WAV (see picture to the right).

The wonderful artist Wendy Simmons generously donated a beautiful piece of artwork to us at Droitwich Spa CVS.

Wendy started creating this artwork at our Community Showcase in May, where she was talking about the brilliant Droitwich Arts Network.

Our thanks goes out to Wendy for this great reminder of the showcase and a beautiful piece to brighten our walls.

Droitwich Community Showcase 2024

On Saturday May 11th 2024 we hosted the first ever
Droitwich Community Showcase.

Representatives from local groups, organisations and clubs were there, spreading the word about what they do and how people can get involved.

It was a busy day with 31 stalls where local people could discover a new hobby, club to join, volunteering opportunity or where they can get support. With performances, demonstrations and activities it was a chance to show what this brilliant town has to offer!

John Lewis Donation

Our wonderful team celebrated a generous donation from John Lewis!

This will support the running our of Community Transport Service. Helping us to continue to provide our services, getting people to appointments, to see friends and family, day care centres, helping reduce isolation with our community trips and much more.

In the picture you can see some of our regular minibus passengers, ready for another one of our community trips, alongside of one of our fantastic volunteer drivers - without them, we couldn't do what we do!
THANK YOU to John Lewis, your support means the world!

Volunteer Celebrations!

In June we spent some quality time with some of our volunteers, we enjoyed a meal and had lots of laughter! We are so thankful to be supported by our volunteers, we couldn't do it without them.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our volunteers.

We celebrated #VolunteersWeek

on our social media, and posted something new everyday to discuss and celebrate how many incredible people support the charity. From driving to gardening, administration to fundraising - we are so fortunate to be supported by so many individuals. Every little helps and without them, we couldn't continue providing vital community services!

Donna Quinn

"This lady, is 1 in a million, she turned a local telephone box into a local library, she runs a handwriting club that sends letters to cancer patients and elderly in care homes, she is the most wonderful work colleague who is always there for everyone and puts on events and fun things in the staff room at the Droitwich private hospital, an all-round lovely caring person who goes above and beyond every single day."

Moving Forward Partner With Blue Cross!

“Previously we have received small donations of pet food from local supermarkets, we often have families asking if we have pet food available. Over the past six months we have seen an increase in families using the community fridge, and we expect this to continue to rise due to the current cost of living crisis. We welcome any donations, and we are looking forward to our new partnership with Blue Cross Droitwich.”
