About the Role
This role provides a statutory service to look after the best interests of those who are under deprivation of liberty safeguards due to a lack of mental capacity. It involves visiting the individual in their care home around every 6 weeks to ensure that they are being properly cared for. All observations are logged onto a database and concerns feedback to our advocacy team. The times of the visits are arranged at the convenience of the volunteer.

Skills and Qualifications
Full training is given on the context and process of the responsibilities. A key quality is the confidence to question practises and speak out if any issues are found. IT skills for reporting.
