About the Role
Activities change every week so there is never a boring day. You could be helping some of our users that struggle with fine motor skills cut and stick in craft session, help feed and groom animals, help in cooking sessions, or just sit and socialise within a group. No 2 days are ever the same. We currently have 2 amazing dedicated volunteers, but 1 or 2 more would be a huge help. Our days are truly magical! Experience working with disabilities isn't essential as training can be provided. We are looking for someone fun, and happy to get stuck in.
We are on the search for 1 or 2 dedicated volunteers to help with the day to day activities at the farm.
Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for someone that can dedicate 1 or 2 days per week. Someone that is fun, and not afraid to act silly or make a fool of themself.
Someone musical, or someone with an interesting, fun background that can be shared and enjoyed by our clients would be an advantage.
Experience isn't necessarily needed, but would be an advantage. Fuel expenses can be claimed back.
About the Organisation
Our aim is to help push our clients beyond what they think they are capable of, to try new things, and to provide a safe, fun, and family like environment. Everyone here is equal, and we never have a dull day. Most of our activities also teach life skills. This could be helping to look after animals, washing up after cooking sessions, farm maintenance, or helping make a cup of tea at break times. All of our activities are person centered, meaning our activities are accessible to all abilities and ages. We offer many activities every week, our most popular and most frequent being, Animal care, Craft, Cooking, and Woodwork. We also have regular sessions of Music, Dance, Drama, Forest crafts, and Gardening. These sessions change most days to keep our days fresh and exciting.
Nineveh Ridge Care Farm is a day provision for adults and children with learning disabilities.
We have occasional trips out into the community. These trips could be to help collect donated materials, helping others in the community (we help a lot with the local children's nursery), or trips to bowling, pumpkin patches, and much more.
