About the Role

The purpose of our MCST Dementia volunteer is to help support the delivery of our effective Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) to people with a diagnosis of dementia living in Worcestershire.

Main duties will include:

  • Assist the Dementia Wellbeing Team to   deliver MCST sessions once a week to people with a diagnosis of mild to   moderate dementia and help undertake assessments.

  • Dealing with confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

  • Attend Age UK Herefordshire & Worcestershire’s volunteer training and adhere to safeguarding   best practice.

  • Escalating any concerns to a member of staff in a timely manner

  • Referring members who require further support or who have dementia service queries to the DWS Team

Skills and Qualifications

  • An interest in and understanding of issues facing older people.

  • Patient and reliable.

  • Are prepared to complete any necessary initial and ongoing learning and        attend future support meetings.
